Gallery - Oyster Restoration
2011

       By 2011, approximately 3 million oysters were planted in the St. Mary's River oyster sanctuary with the help of volunteers from the surrounding community and nearby St. Mary's College of Maryland. Oysters were provided by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Marylanders Grow Oysters Program and purchased from local watermen with funding from The Boeing Company and Tidewater Dental.
