2024: Year in Review

2024: Year in Review

We are so grateful for another incredible year of protecting, improving, and promoting the sustainability of the St. Mary’s River and its watershed. Thanks to all of you, for making it possible.

This year, we engaged more people than ever before, had our most successful A River Affair, revamped our website, and raised the funds to purchase a work truck. We did all this while facing significant challenges including budget cuts to the Marylanders Grow Oysters program and difficulty getting larvae for our nursery tank.

Below are some of our key successes, but please be sure to review our full annual report here.

  • 6 Future Bay Leaders developed personally and professionally through our internship program
  • 2,400 visitors explored our new and improved website
  • 1.7 million oysters planted in Breton Bay and the St. Mary’s River
  • 282 reef balls deployed in the St. Mary’s River
  • 1,163 visited our exhibits at the nine local fairs and festivals we attended

With your support, we can continue these successes into 2025. Every donation, no matter the size, amplifies our voice and demonstrates to decision-makers and community leaders that protecting our river is a shared priority. Please consider joining our membership or donating by sending a check to PO Box 94, St. Mary’s City, MD 20686 or via this link.
