Water Quality Monitoring

We’re collaborating with the St. Mary’s River Yacht Club (SMRYC) to monitor water quality throughout the St. Mary’s River. SMRWA uses these data track the St. Mary's River's "dead zones" and to evaluate the sanctuary’s effect on the public oyster fishery. Dead zones are areas of no or low oxygen where oysters and other organisms cannot survive.

If you want to contribute to this collaboration, spend more time on the water, and learn about water quality monitoring techniques, please email Emma Green at emma@SMRWA.org. Please note, sampling typically occurs during the week (Monday through Friday).
