Our summer began with a big move! After many years of Bob Lewis and Merideth Taylor graciously allowing us to conduct our field operations at their farm, we moved to our own dedicated field site! Huge thanks to Bob and Merideth for their hospitality and support over the years!
Thank you to our new landlord, Russell Miller, of Three Notch South, LLC and Three Notch Construction, for generously offering the use of his property at a discounted cost and for all his assistance in the move!
We installed a new 12′ x 24′ storage shed from Shady Oak Storage Sheds in Loveville, MD. Mr. James Stauffer‘s discount and the generous contributions of our members have enabled us to house the equipment for our fieldwork and continue our mission through this busy period.
We’re so grateful to C.L. Pitcher Co, Inc. for loaning us a water tank this summer! We used the water tank to wash over 600 bags of oyster shell for our nursery tank operations. We could not have done our work this summer without their donation!
Many thanks to the volunteers, dedicated board members, interns, and staff who assisted in the set-up effort. Volunteers moved four trailer loads and about fifteen truckloads of equipment! They also repaired the fence so we have a secure area to store our outdoor equipment.
Our new field site is off Point Lookout Rd in St. Inigoes (where the old Dyson Lumber was). If you see us outside working, please feel free to stop, say hi, or lend a hand!
We are still looking for a few more items to make our new field site workable. These items include a circular saw, hand saw, concrete mixer, sawhorses, plastic gasoline tanks, and electric power washers. We also need a small shed (approximately 6′ x 6′ or 8′ x 8′) to house a well expansion tank through the winter months or a volunteer to build one.
