The new 21’ C-Hawk work vessel funded by a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration grant has proven an invaluable asset for the association. Many thanks again to former Executive Director Bob Lewis for his tireless work on the grant that enabled this, the boat and trailer selection, purchase and equipping process, and delivery! Having our own dedicated work vessel has greatly improved our productivity. We’ve already used the vessel to pick up Marylanders Grow Oysters cages, for water quality monitoring, and to conduct sampling on aquatic critters throughout the river. This boat provided an ideal platform for the fieldwork performed by the interns and volunteers through the spring and summer operations. We’re very excited about this new chapter in the growth of the organization and its visibility in the community. Thanks to all who helped make this happen!
